Grey Heron Organic Bed & Breakfast

We are a couple who moved from the North of Italy to the South Island of New Zealand in 1997, much travelled and keen on tramping, mountaineering and good organic Italian food.

The beautiful garden of our Organic Bed & Breakfast faces the Moutere River Estuary: You will enjoy our breakfast overlooking a superb tidal view of the estuary and of the Kahurangi National  Park mountain range. Kahurangi National Park is the youngest and largest of the many national parks in New Zealand including all sorts of forests, bushland, beaches and mountain tracks. 

Abel Tasman National Park is only 20 minutes drive away and offers a wide range of activities e.g. kayaking, tramping, swimming with seals, boating etc.  Abel Tasman National Park is the smallest but the most popular New Zealand National Park.

Our classic Italian hospitality includes a handsome breakfast with true Italian coffee or cappuccino, organic home­made bread, croissants and jams.  On request we offer Italian meals for dinner in our Bed & Breakfast.

You will appreciate our Mediterranean atmosphere in the heart of New Zealand nature, among native trees and lovely singing birds.  Depending on the season, you will have the chance to see the spectacular White Herons and Royal Spoonbills feeding in the estuary.
